A visit to the Dr's office

Cutting fabric with a dull rotary blade is a nightmare for most of us.
  However BEWARE!!!
As I found out today, that dull blade was still as sharp as ever and made minced meat out of my left little finger.  A visit to the doctors office and a tetanus shot, my doctor said, I should start feeling normal again in about two days.  Thank You Dr. V. for seeing me without an appointment and not making me go to the emergency room, you are the best!!!

Today, the Moss family brought in  their lovely Sissy.  Sissy is a "rescued animal", just like our store mascot Teddy.  I just love hearing about animals that have been rescued.  Sissy is a companion to a blind Lab, named Jack, who has been blind for the last two years.  It was so wonderful hearing how Sissy takes care of Jack in and out of their home.  If anyone has a story about a "rescued animal" please feel free to share it with us.   34U...Tina

Messy but productive

It looks like a tornado just hit our sewing room, but it was just me doing a little sewing today.  One of these days I would love to be super organized when sewing little projects.  Today I was making soap holder out of tulle.  It's perfect for making tons of lather, and  I just love the way tulle, scrubs off all the flaky skin and makes me feel super clean.  Have a great weekend every one!!!   34U...Tina

Signs of Fall...

The first sign of "tamales",  reminds me that cooler weather and the fall holidays are soon to follow.  I'm looking forward to all the wonderful things that fall brings, such as Halloween candy (kit kats are my favorite) Thanksgiving turkey with homemade cranberry sauce.  Most important spending time with family and friends.   34U...Tina

When I was growing up as a kid, the only time we ever washed our hands was when my mother forced us to.  But now, I can't count how many times I wash my hands or how many times a day I use antibacterial.  Now we have a problem, my hands were always so rough and dry until my sister Denise, made me some of her "homemade lemon sugar hand scrub".  My hands no longer look like a dry lake bed, they are soft and smooth...thank God for big sisters.

Make that bargain totally your own

Who doesn't love a bargain... found this dress at Target for $4.99.  I'm not much for any type of clothing that has tube on the label or anything without  sleeves.  It originally had a large ruffle around the bust (enhanced my bust size way too much) so making cap sleeves just made sense.  This was such an quick and easy project and lots of fun.  Since I wear a lot of black, my husband loves the way it looks on me. Bright and happy.
